The MDSC Buddy Walk Program is the state’s largest public awareness platform to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk & Harvest Fair in Central Massachusetts is expected to bring more than 500 individuals with Down syndrome, families, and friends together for an early autumn celebration. Funds raised from this event support all MDSC programs advocating for full, meaningful lives for individuals with Down syndrome across the state.
Schedule of Events
Event is rain or shine!
10:00am-11:00am Registration and pre-event activities
Includes children’s entertainment, games, and refreshments!
11:00am-1:00pm Walk and post-event activities
Enjoy a 1-mile walk along picturesque River Bend Farm in early autumn then spend some time visiting with the other families!
· Adults- $20.00
· Children & Young Adults (22 and under)- $10.00
Registration includes walk festivities, event t-shirt, and light refreshments.
Please note: T-shirts are guaranteed only to those who pre-register. All others will be given out while supplies last.
Your fundraising efforts are critical to our mission and directly impact programs and services that provide hope to new and expectant parents, training to medical professionals and students, best practices to educators, meaningful opportunities for teens and adults, and a strong voice on Capitol Hill.
We ask all walkers, ages 13 and up, strive to reach the $150 fundraising goal

The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks planned for 2013 worldwide. In 2012, more than $11.5 million was raised nationwide to benefit local programs and services, as well as the national advocacy and public awareness initiatives of NDSS that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.
